Residential workshops will run from Friday evenings through till Sunday afternoons at the luxury Barcelo Hotel in Stirling. Our workshops are hands-on and you are expected to work on skills and techniques by working on your own projects throughout. Applications are competitive and we are strictly limited to 30 places!

Girl Geek Scotland is hosting a series of workshops to complement our Speaker Series 2010 on ‘Creativity, Computing and Entrepreneurialism’. The workshops, which are aimed at women who are thinking about starting, or have recently started, a Scottish business, will work around themes that will target what we believe are existing weaknesses in female business culture, namely: Negotiation, Funding Strategies, and Creativity in Business.

These workshops are aimed at women with an interest in technology- your background is less important than your enthusiasm and desire to follow a tech/creative project through. A diverse range of people is expected to attend with backgrounds in design, art, computer science, engineering, nursing, photography- the list is endless.You will be required to bring a project with you- at the end of each workshop you should have developed a workable strategy that will allow you to complete this project using new skills and resources gained during the weekend.

The workshops run from Friday through till Sunday and will be held at the Barcelo Hotel in Stirling. The hotel, dinner and workshop tuition is fully funded if you meet our criteria.

They will start on Friday evenings with dinner, drinks and networking and a few activities. On Saturday and Sundays the workshop runs all day and you can work as late as you need. On Sunday there will be more supported project work and will finish around 4pm.

If you have a prospective business partner (male or female) you can apply for two places in one application. However, funding only covers eligible participants, so please check our eligibility criteria which are detailed on the call for participation.
